In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Help With Setting the Table, S'il vous plaît

I'm finishing up work on my galleys for Ruby's Imagine and I suddenly had this thought: Ruby's grandmother Mammaloose tells her to, "Set the table." But I don't know if that's how people in Louisiana say that. Any readers from New Orleans out there? I tried to research it but I didn't find anything. The French apparently started that saying (Set the table), so it would seem reasonable that people in Louisiana might say that. It's the English who say "lay the table," right?

Anyway. Anyone know how to tell someone in New Orleans to put plates and silverware on the table? And yes, I understand there are 30 million different dialects etc. in my state of birth. But would it be out of place for a native of New Orleans to tell someone to "set the table?"

Thank you ahead of time, kind readers.
