In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Who Knew?

Well, after nearly a week of no internet service, we is back. We're also scrambling to get ready for our trip, so I'm not sure when I'll write again. But I saw this piece about how the park service is not allowed to say how old the Grand Canyon is. AND they are selling a book in the park store that says Noah's flood created the Grand Canyon. They don't want to offend religious fundamentalists, Don Hazen of Alternet says. Why aren't they worried about offending those of us who have brains? Man, I can't wait until these people are out of office, or until they go back to school and learn some freaking science. How come they're so afraid of science? If god exists, she believes in science! If their faith was strong, they'd figure out that god could have invented science in all its intricacies and beauty. 3 comments

Hi, Michele! Mario got his tooth fixed temporarily. Yeah! And on the trip we'll have email, and I should be able to post regularly here, and I hope to write a few Old Mermaid stories and post those, too. I'll post some pics, too. I think all the places we're staying have wifi. If all goes well, we'll be in San Francisco New Year's Eve. Knock wood. Faery hugs & kisses right backatcha.
