In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

A Better Mousetrap...Er...Nail 

While investigating the destruction of Hurricane Marilyn ten years ago, Ed Sutt discovered that most of the houses collapsed because the nails had failed. He's spent the last decade trying to come up with a better nail, one that will help keep buildings standing through hurricanes and earthquakes. According to Popular Science, he's succeeded. They named the HurriQuake nail the Innovation of the Year Grand Award Winner for 2006. For only fifteen more dollars per house, you can now make your house or building twice as strong. Isn't that cool?

It's the seemingly simple things, sometimes, isn't it?
