In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

A Memorial

Bernadette sent this link to a commentary about the two Washington women who were recently murdered out in the forest. (Thanks, Bernadette.) I can't remember if I told you I went out and walked Falling Creek by myself about a week after the murders. Went all the way to the falls. I thought about the murders all the way there, just as I often think of dying when I am on the trails alone. But I also communed with that which is sacred to me. Wild places are my churches. I wish others felt the same, but they don't always.

May Mary and Susanna rest in Beauty!

Blessed be.
