In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Happy Lunar Lammas

Okay, that was yesterday, but since I'm up in the middle of the night it still feels like yesterday. As I went back to bed for the millionth time tonight/this morning, Mario opened his arms for me, and I lay on his shoulder and said, "I've decided I don't like menopause." He said, "I haven't heard that many people like it." What else is the poor guy gonna say in the middle of the freaking night? (I didn't sweat for about fifteen years. Now I sweat nearly all the time. I suppose it's better to sweat than not to, but geez louise, let's have some balance.)

Got up a few minutes later and went out and looked at the moon. "You and me, babe," I said.

Into the breach...er, the bed...again. Ta!

fullmoon

And go here for more Lammas moon info and gorgeous photo. 0 comments
