In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Where is this, and what's the motel? I want it....NOW ....although the northern California heat has abated. That is my kind of place. Thanks for posting!

Hi Autumn and Beth! The weather is sumthin, eh? Catastrophic climate change right in our own backyard—actually, our entire yard. I hope CA continues to cool down. It is cooler here, knock wood. The place is Seaside, Oregon. It looked just like a CA beach, however. It was packed with people, and some people were SUNNING themselves. That is practically unheard of on an Oregon beach. Ordinarily you have to be careful because you might get rain or cloudburn. People loved the warm sunny days. I like it better cloudy and a bit rainy. But I'm not complaining. I loved being there no matter what the weather.

Thank you, Kim. I've driven up the coast but stayed in Bandon and in Cannon Beach. Lovelovelove the Oregon coast, but you're right about the sunning.

..and I've enjoyed the Mermaids story..

Methinks this is what I need, an ocean and a beach. The heat and the humidity are appalling this summer. No global warming huh?
