In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Letting Go of Things

We're trying to get rid of things. We don't like having a lot of things, but they seem to accumulate. We thought about having a garage sale. Life loses all its meaning just contemplating such a thing. So we decided to put things in front of our house with a sign on each one: FREE to a good home. First our bikes. Gone within ten minutes. (Where we live is too hilly. We haven't ridden our bikes in five years. Now we'll move, no doubt.) A little while later I put out an old VCR. I don't know what it was doing up in the closest. I don't even know if it works. I also put out two pictures I'd bought at a Sally Ann because I wanted the frames, but I never used them. Gone, gone, gone. Mario put out a chair that has the plastic paint falling off of it. I can't imagine anyone will take that. Just checked. Still there. Maybe tomorrow.

I also saw that the crescent moon is covered by clouds. Clouds! Could it be that we'll have cooler weather soon, oh please elementals! I think I'll go outside and dance under the Old Oak and Old Maple.

May You Dance in Beauty! 0 comments
