In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Next Stop: Fascism

As we travelled up and down the coast these last three days, we saw how this glorious place has been transformed by monoculture: chain store after chain store along 101. And evidence that we live in an oligarchy was all around us. Homeless people combed the beaches in a town where the locals are struggling to make a living and find homes next to vacation condos that sell (at the cheap end) for $700,000. How is that any different from say, Mexico? The rich have hynotized the once-powerful middle class and working class into believing all is well: or something. What happened? Maybe what happens to all rich and powerful empires, I suppose. Laziness. Corruption.

And now I see that the Supreme Court has said that the police have legal authority to be storm troopers: They can crash into our homes without even a warning, a knock, nothing but a warrant. How long before the warrant goes the way? 0 comments
