In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Home Again

The dog scratches on my back are almost gone. Mario is upstairs asleep. I've got to get this not sleeping thing under control. Tomorrow I'll faery doctor myself! I was asleep for a couple of hours, but I kept dreaming. Not nightmares, just about things I've been fussing about.

Spent part of the day walking the beach. Gray, gray skies. Rained off and on. Came across a nearly-empty coffee jar with a card inside on which someone had written the words: Help me. Mario thought it was probably a joke. I asked the Old Mermaids to send the person help if they needed it. Found a little courtyard in Cannon Beach with gorgeous cultivated flowers. On this gray day as the rain misted us, I fell in love with red.

Here are some photos of a couple of the flowers I fell in love with. They reciprocated, absolutely. Can't you tell?

Closer. With flash. Mmm-mm!

This one is orange, but the closer I got, the redder it got.

Aw...the no sleep thing. Me, too, Kim. So I thoroughly sympathize. Last night it was 4:30 a.m. when sleep finally took over. Tonight (this morning) I slept 3 hours.. So here I am at 3:30 writing to you. Forrest teases me that I must have a guilty conscience! Hope the faery doctoring works for you.

The red flowers are gorgeous. A bright spot in a gray day. Vickie

Like WOW, these roses are absolutely perfect in every way - they are magnificent, far out, positively jubilating!

Ah the sleep thing - I was up in the wee hours of this morning with a pot of herb tea and a book. Let me know if the faery doctoring works out???

Isn't it funny we were all up in the middle of the night? It wasn't even new moon or full moon! Let's all try for a good night's sleep this night. I drove out to the woods this afternoon, leaned my seat back, put on a drumming tape, and fell to sleep. Ah wilderness...with a sound system.

Sweet dreams, my dears.
