In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Rain

Did I say it is raining here? That is a freaking understatement. Rivers are flooded. Houses are sliding away. I can't see anything but water and fog and clouds. I really don't want to complain. I'm not going to complain. I'm just saying I am in such a funk. I'm trying to shake myself out of it. Can't be this way before surgery. Or after. Need to get my mind and body right.

Someone measured how much rain we got in our town during January. 22 inches. That's a lot of water in one month. Records are falling all over.

OK. That's it. I'll try not to talk about it any more.

Bleck. Bleck. Bleck.

I need to just curl up and read a book. But I've got too much work to do. Quit talking about it and just do it, eh? 2 comments

Hi Kim -

Bleck indeed.... you're going thru sun withdrawal after your AZ time! How do you think those of us who've been stuck here in "The Great Soggy" for the last six weeks have fared? A one-week escape for me only managed to sustain an elevated mood for a few days when I returned to the dreck. Even a drive up to Hood River hasn't offered the usually nicer weather. t's pouring there this winter too. I hear we're having the wettest January since the 50's.

Good news - the sun returns next week. A long stretch predicted. All our spirits should start perking up.

This is the time of year that makes all of us "Gorgites" ask ourselves, now why is it again that I live here?? Then summer comes, and we all suffer from glorious sun-infused amnesia. Can't wait!

Hey Claudia! That's why I didn't want to whine too much about the rain. How could I complain after being in the sun for six weeks! Today is beautiful though, isn't it? Hope your knee is better.
