Home (Updated 8:30 p.m.) 

Hello! It's 5:00 p.m. and we just got home. She was able to do about half the surgery. Since I was awake they had to use a lot of local anesthesia and that has epinephrine in it and that made my heart rate and blood pressure too high. But before that, I did great. They did great. They were all wonderful. Next time I'll probably have to go under. It'll be all right. Now I need to eat. Haven't eaten and drank since 11:30 p.m. last night. I can breathe through one nostril, which is more than I've been able to do for a decade. Now I need to rest, relax, and recuperate.

Thank you so much for all your good wishes. I'm sure they helped.

P.S. Just updated this 8:30 p.m. I've learned how to look in a dictionary to spell anesthesia and I've remembered the difference between "half" and "have." If you read this post earlier, you'll understand. Maybe. If not, it doesn't matter. My heart rate is back to normal. Yeah! Only took a couple of hours after we left the clinic, and the doc said it might take a day. I'm not bleeding very much, knock wood, and the doc said it could last days. So far so good. I feel kind of weird, but I'm sure that will pass.

Am so glad to hear all is well. You were in my thoughts all day. I checked in here at FS hoping either you or Mario would have left some message re your status. Was surprised it was actually you and that you sound so upbeat. Could that be the epinephrine? :) Or just your own relief that the dreaded ordeal is at least half over and turned out to be not nearly so dreadful as anticipated?

Good news, dearest Kim. And what a feeling it must be to breathe out of that one open nostril! Now give your body LOTS of TLC--it's been through quite a trauma. Even the best of surgeries are hard on our prcious bodies.
