In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Honor Restored

The Brits' high court has declared that any evidence gained from torture is inadmissible. Way to go, GB. As our mater country, you're setting a good example for the colonies. According to the New York Times, Lord Hoffman wrote, "In our own century, many people in the United States, heirs to that common-law tradition, have felt their country dishonored by its use of torture outside the jurisdiction and its practice of extra-legal 'rendition' of suspects to countries where they would be tortured." You said a mouthful, Lord H. Brings tears to my eyes. "Dishonored" is only part of what we've been feeling, but it's a good word for now. 0 comments
