In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Fiddling

While the Earth burns, freezes, chokes, the U.S. fiddles. The rest of the world is trying to do something about global warming and the U.S. just digs in its heels, crosses its proverbial arms, and says, "No, no, no!" like the little bully it is. The U.S. wouldn't even sign a nonbinding agreement to talk about it. Our rep got up and walked out of the talks about talks. Walked out. This person was representing us to the world and he said no to even talking about saving the planet. 24 hours later the U.S. came back to the talks, primarily, it seems, because Bill Clinton was there and did some fast negotiating. However, the two biggest producers of greenhouse gases, the U.S. and China, still won't sign onto the Kyoto Protocols.

I was sitting here thinking that the rest of the world should get together and declare war on us. Then I realized that was American thinking. The rest of the world should get together and refuse to do any business with us. Don't buy our goods; don't sell us goods. Plus, say you'll stand united against us if we start rattling our swords. Same with China. Don't buy anything from China; don't sell them anything.

It's kind of like this. Imagine the Earth is our Mother. Which she is actually. And all these countries are her children. Two of her children are trying to kill her and the rest of the children. What should the other children do? 0 comments
