In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Detainees Have No Rights

Showing once again that they are on the wrong side of nearly every ethical debate, the Senate voted to strip "detainees" of the legal rights the Supreme Court said they had, i.e., the ability to challenge their detention in court. Five Dems voted for this, too, including Ron Wyden of Oregon! For all his talk against torture, McCain voted for it as well. According to the ACLU, this amendment essentially strips the detainees of any rights they were assured from McCain's anti-torture amendment which was recently passed by a 90-9 majority.

Do you get it? The political world is a very strange one. 0 comments
