In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

They Still Need Help 

Michael Moore is down in New Orleans with his crew and Veterans for Peace doing relief work. People are still in desperate need. He has a list of supplies they need and where to send them. You can go to the Vets for Peace message board and find out more.

By the way, I haven't kept on top of this as much as I would have liked, but that amazing animal Wikipedia has an incredible amount of info on Katrina etc.
