In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

His Goose Was Cooked 

I know this is old news, but earlier in the year the White House chef was fired. I just heard about this because a new chef was hired. Walter Scheib III, an eleven year veteran of the White House kitchen, was not happy when the Emperor's wife told him to stop using French dishes and techniques because France didn't support the war. Let us just pause to think about this.....The pause that depresses....What kind of simple-minded buffoons are occupying the people's house? Walter Scheib III is trained in French cuisine. Are you kidding me? Then for the inauguration, the Bushies wanted him to "create a special inaugural menu to honor the brand names represented by more than a dozen top GOP and Bush campaign donors." These donors included Dunkin' Donuts and Coca-Cola. (I don't consume any of these products, but I would certainly stop now if I did.) Despite his distaste for the project, the chef did as he was asked. The recipes are at the end of the first article I linked above. I got nauseated just reading the recipes. Bleck. I keep thinking Laura Bush should know better because she's a librarian, but then she married the guy. Bleck. Bleck. Bleck.
