In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

White Leaves

This is another photo I took on the Falling Creek trail. It's a clump of vine maple that I've been photographing for years, but I was never satisfied with the pictures until now. This black and white photo captures, for me, the first part of photosynthesis: leaves drinking in sunlight. I put this photograph on my desktop, and it's just lovely. Very soothing as it spreads its leaves and milky sunlight across my LCD screen.
