In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Everything Little is Big Again

Out at Falling Creek the deer's head orchids are fading into the background. Truly. Literally. Purple first, now pale, pale pink. Then faded rust. Except for a few. And the bear grass is everywhere, as though hundreds of shaggy-haired green-haired Moes have sunk into the ground up to their mops. Close-up, though, comedy fades. I'm breathless at the beauty of the tips of bear grass. My eyes soak up the green. Ahhhhhhh!
