In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Baghdad Burning in Book Form

Riverbend's Baghdad Burning has been published in book form. (I have a permanent link to her blog to the right.) According to Booklist she had offers from publishers just a few weeks after she started chronicling life in Baghdad as the Americans invaded. Not surprisingly, one publisher wanted her to tone the blog down so American readers would like it better. This book is the first year of the blog. I wish her much success. 0 comments
