In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Pick a Lane

This is a great column by Arianna Huffington. I laughed outloud. She's talking about why we should care about who becomes the next head of the DNC. She says she doesn't want anyone who says the Dems need to go to the middle of the road. Right on, sister. Pick a lane! And stay there. I've been talking to people who didn't like Kerry and/or had relatives who voted for Bush. (I guess no one will admit to me they actually voted for Bush themselves.) What I keep hearing over and over is that people like someone who stands for something EVEN IF THEY DISAGREE WITH THEM. The Democrats don't seem to stand for anything. I can't really argue with that assessment. Huffington and others are saying what I've been saying: Be Liberal. Be Progressive. Take back the language. Take back the argument. Don't be afraid to be who you are. Some of the most liberal candidates won in red districts—because the voters knew what they stood for. The mantra should be, "Remember Russ Feingold!" He's probably the most liberal Senator in the United States. He voted against the war. And he handily won reelection. 0 comments
