In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

Who Won Friday Debate?

What did you think of the debate? I thought Kerry started out very strong. He went after Bush hard. He was tough, and he was accurate. Bush sounded angry and strident, and he strutted around the stage. Has he always done that? The last 40 minutes Kerry didn't do as well. He had a bit of aphasia—I've seen him do that before—but if the Republicans pounce on that they're idiots. Bush does it all the time. Kerry had a great opportunity to go after Bush on the environment when someone asked Bush about his record, but Kerry flubbed it. He should have listed all that he's done wrong—point after point—especially since an environmental activist won the Nobel Peace Prize today! As Mario pointed out, it didn't seem as though he had been prepped on that question, and it's one of the areas where Bush is the most vulnerable. That was disappointing. I think Kerry was way ahead in the beginning, but then by the end it was probably a draw. 0 comments
