In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

More Proof Election Was Stolen

If you need more proof that the election was stolen, this month's Vanity Fair article "The Path to Florida" is a must read. Pass it on to family and friends who still think Bush is a legitimate president. As I read it, the butterflies in my stomach got worse. I kept muttering, "So it's really true, it's really true." And anyone who reads this will understand that if George W. Bush is elected (for the first time) and has a second term, Roe v. Wade will fall. The Supreme Court justices are not unbiased. I knew this. But I thought most of them could be relied on to follow the law. (Not Scalia or Thomas, of course; they are beyond the pale and should have never been appointed to the Supreme Court. They are mediocre judges at best and right wing fanatics at worst.) In this article, for the first time, Supreme Court clerks tell what was happening behind the scenes during the Florida recount. They've been criticized for breaking their silence, but I say, "It's about time." The Supreme Court made themselves political when they agreed to hear the case in the first place. And I don't believe stopping the recount was legitimate, and it will go down in history as one of the most overtly political decisions the Court ever made—and one of the worst decisions. Right up there with the Dred Scott decision. 0 comments
