In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

What?

Judge Gene Stephenson, a Seminole County circuit court judge, looked at a photograph of a beaten and bruised rape victim—whose case he was trying—and said, "Why would anyone want to rape her? She doesn't look like any day at the beach." WHAT? He apologized and withdrew from the case, but his boss is apparently letting him stay on the bench. WHAT? And the defense attorney stood up for the judge! WHAT?

In case you want to politely let this judge know what you think of his conduct, here's his email: jstephen@co.seminole.fl.us. 0 comments
