In times of old, The Furies protected Mother Right. If a mother (or any woman) was harmed, The Furies swooped down and took their vengeance. They were one of the last vestiges of a world that existed before the patriarchy. When we feel righteous anger, it is The Furies who are calling out to us to make what is wrong right again.

P.S. 

(I'm using my right hand—I'm left-handed.) I found "A conversation from November 2000 you couldn't have today" on Teresa Nielsen Hayden's Making Light. It's a discussion about what would happen if a jet hit the World Trade Center. I sat there reading it in a kind of strange shock. One of the posters worked in the World Trade Center. I checked his website, and he last posted Halloween 2003, so he either wasn't at the World Trade Center 9/11 or he survived the attack. 0 comments
